Celebration Dinner and Resource Expo

October 10, 2018

CMSA Sacramento Chapter officers and board of directors would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you that attended the Celebration Dinner and Resource Expo representing our health care community to the Case Management Celebration Dinner and Resource Expo.

As always it is wonderful to be returning to the Rancho Marriott location. The Marriott continues to delight us with wonderful food preparations and excellent service. We hope you enjoyed the evenings affair prepared for the evening of fine dining, beautiful décor and atmosphere, to the audio/visual support services.  Marriott has shown their commitment to our chapter and to you, our guests that continues to be unwavering.

There is so much that goes into preparing for this event.  There is the pride and determination that we share in to provide everyone here with a real positive experience.  It takes hours and hours of research selecting a speaker, meal planning, color palate selection, in person and telephonic meetings and let’s not forget emails upon emails.

This event would not be possible without the support, commitment and contribution of “our vendors” who provide us with the case management tools for our toolbox.  The resources shared today go without saying are necessary for every case manager to do his/her job and do that job well.

During 2018 we pursued a different avenue and in collaboration and partnership with Oakmont Carmichael, Oakmont Roseville and Oakmont Folsom provided the evening festivities that included such amazing and unforgettable dinners. The residents of these facilities were welcoming and enjoyed having us share in their home.

Our guest speaker the evening was: Dr. Michele Camicia, PhD, MSN, PHN, CRRN, CCM, NEA-BC, FAHA, Director Kaiser Acute Rehabilitation.  We hope you enjoyed her message and were inspired to challenge yourself to accomplish your dreams.

Our National CMSA Annual Conference is June 10 – 14, 2019 and will be held in Las Vegas.

As President for the Sacramento Chapter of CMSA for the 2018 year I have met a lot of wonderful, knowledgeable people and have learned so much.  I wish the Chapter continued service in excellence and membership growth.

Sincerely,

Nannette E. Green, RN, MHA, CCM

   Multi-State Nursing Licensure

With the development of managed care, tele-health and mobile populations, nurses are frequently required to work with patients who travel or reside across multiple state lines. Unlike driver’s licenses, many state nursing licenses are not recognized by other states.

Twenty state boards of nursing have joined together to form a Nurse Compact in which participating states mutually recognize nurse licenses from other Compact states.

To learn more about Multi-State Nursing Licensure, watch the presentation by Claudia Bray and Marilyn Edwards presented to the national conference of CSAOHN (California State Association of Occupational Health Nurses) in November 2015. (click here)
